Please note that on Sunday 2nd June Italy celebrates the constitution of the Italian Republic. The official programme takes place at the Altare della Patria in the Piazza Venezia/Colosseum area and will include military parades, speeches, etc., so the centre of Rome will be very congested. As far as public transport is concerned, the holiday timetable shall be observed. Transport options, such as taxis, rail services between major cities and major long-route bus lines, are available but travelers are advised to check first with the local transport authorities.
